"Et la lumière fut !" Le choeur éclatant de La Création de Haydn ouvre cette dernière émission sur les "Arts Flo" et la musique sacrée. Avec Bach, Haendel et Domenico Scarlatti, trois compositeurs nés en 1685, année de composition des Arts Florissants de Charpentier...

Ensemble instrumental et vocal consacré à la musique baroque, les Arts Florissants sont fondés en 1979 par le claveciniste et chef franco-américain William Christie. Le ténor britannique Paul Agnew devient son adjoint en 2007. Le nom "Arts Florissants" fait écho à un opéra de Marc-Antoine Charpentier.

Côté répertoire, l'ensemble se tourne à la fois vers le Grand Siècle français, et plus largement vers la musique européenne des 17e et 18e siècles.
