La fondation JS Bach poursuit son projet aux proportions gigantesques : l'interprétation de l'intégralité des oeuvres vocales du compositeur. Cette fois-ci, place aux cantates 49, 65 et 114.

Le projet, à l'initiative du chef Rudolf Lutz, a pris place en 1999 et devrait se terminer en 2027. Un projet d'ampleur donc, au rythme d'une cantate par mois. Toutes les introductions aux œuvres, concerts et réflexions sur les textes des cantates sont enregistrées sur supports sons et images et mises à disposition dans le monde entier - gratuitement - sur  Bachipedia . Le chœur et l'orchestre de la Fondation JS Bach ainsi que les solistes vocaux sont dirigés par Rudolf Lutz. Avec son travail, la Fondation JS Bach veut transmettre une expérience Bach complète et une compréhension particulière de Bach.

L'idée de maîtriser cette énorme œuvre de composition - déjà quantitativement - dans une performance complète a un aspect gigantesque. Les défis en termes de qualité des interprétations sont tout aussi énormes, car Bach fait les plus hautes exigences musicales et interprétatives.
