Voilà un nouveau disque que l'on doit à l’ensemble Cordia et son chef Stefano Veggetti. L'ensemble qui vient de la province du sud-tyrol a fêté ses 20 ans l’année dernière et se situe à la frontière de la tradition musicale italienne et germanique.

L'ensemble Cordia enregistre ici des Sinfonia de cantates de Bach. Il s'agit des symphonies qui ouvrent les cantates. Jean-Sébastien Bach avait l’habitude de s’inspirer d’anciennes partitions pour les écrire : mouvements de concertos ou concertos brandebourgeois, le compositeur puise dans son catalogue instrumental et remanie les pièces pour qu’elles introduisent brillamment ses cantates.

L’ensemble Cordia a extrait ces pièces introductives et les a arrangées pour nous offrir une sorte de petite symphonie qui fonctionne à merveille. L’organiste Takashi Watanabe prend part à une partie de ce programme.
