Découverte d'un jeune pianiste, Gabriel Stern, qui enregistre Bach.

Le premier disque de Gabriel Stern était consacré aux 12 études d’exécutions transcendantes de Liszt ; c’était se placer dans le sillage d’un Bertrand Chamayou ou de Claire-Marie Le Guay dont les premiers opus discographiques étaient également ce redoutable cycle.
Le deuxième disque de ce jeune pianiste porte la même ambition avec un autre grand cycle, les variations Goldberg de Bach. Ce n’est pas cette fois ici la virtuosité que l’on admire, mais la concentration, l’intellect, la hauteur de vue.
Ce jeune pianiste franco-israélien né en 1992 marche ici sur les pas de son maître, Cédric Pescia, l’un des grands interprètes de l’œuvre de Bach.
Nulle extravagance ici avec Gabriel Stern, mais une vision à la clarté salvatrice. Chaque variation trouve sa place au sein du cycle qui ne faiblit jamais sous la conduite du pianiste. Une nouvelle version de cette œuvre – on n’en manque pas – qui devrait mettre ce pianiste sous la lumière.
