Il y a 30 ans j’éditais pour la Galerie Frémeaux & Associés un album de 6 grandes lithographies réalisées par Daniel Humairet intitulé « Scratch Bop and Paper ». J’ai toujours entendu dans les traits de l’abstraction narrative de la peinture de Daniel les fondamentales de ses baguettes sur les peaux et vu dans les aplats, les harmoniques parfois longues des cymbales. De l’instrument soutien, encadrant, Daniel s’en détache pour devenir le chef d’orchestre humble qui arrange les configurations les plus créatives et qui emmène les soufflants dans la transe. Notre maître du tambour illustre la phrase de Charles Cros « Un disque, c’est 3 minutes de silence à décorer ». Car Daniel n’a pas de gêne à décorer ce « Drum Thing » dans lequel ses comparses, les formidables solistes Vincent Lê Quang et Yoann Loustalot (invité par le trio), peuvent agir sur l’écrin rythmique que leur offrent un Stéphane Kerecki magistral et l’un des plus grands batteurs mondiaux du jazz.
